Queen Elizabeth II Field
A Fields in Trust scheme set up to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee asked landowners to designate land to be used in perpetuity for public recreation. The Parish Council decided to nominate the recreation ground at Eskdale Road and were delighted in being successful in achieving this status.
A Deed of Dedication has been signed and a naming ceremony took place at the Annual Parish Meeting in May 2013 with Pat Martin, Chairman of the Bucks Playing Fields Association. A commemorative plaque has been installed on the outside of the Community Centre to demonstrate that it is now the “Queen Elizabeth II Field, Stoke Mandeville Playing Field” and protected for future generations to enjoy.
